Even during her graduate studies in Economics, Megan’s interest and project work tended towards healthcare and regulation enforcement. After school Megan jumped in to help Mitzi with a growing client load, soon realizing that her work at Grey & Co. utilized her passion for helping others as well as her interest in the health sector.
Megan obtained a bachelor’s degree from NC State University and a master’s degree from Fordham University. In the more than 11 years since she joined Grey & Company, Inc, Megan has assisted more than 50 outpatient surgery centers in achieving accreditation and facilitated seven benchmarking studies for centers across the southeastern United States. Megan lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, son, and black lab named Annie.

Prior to starting Grey & Co. Inc. in 1993, Mitzi served as the Director of Nursing for a small critical access hospital. It was here that she prepared for, and facilitated her first accreditation survey. When other centers asked her for help doing the same, Mitzi saw a need that she was confident she could fill, and soon Grey & Co. was born.
Mitzi obtained a BSN from UNC-Greensboro and a MEd from East Carolina University. Mitzi has consulted and published in the area of quality improvement and survey preparation for over 30 years. She is also certified in Nursing Professional Development through ANCC and serves as one of 8 national faculty members providing training to those seeking certification. She lives in Pittsboro, North Carolina with her husband and often hosts her 4 grandchildren for “Cousin Camp.”

Prior to joining Grey & Company in 2019, Joy was the Nurse Manager of an ASC endoscopy center for more than 7 years - experiencing her center’s own AAAHC survey. As part of the Grey & Co. team, she is passionate about sharing her knowledge to help others think about how to efficiently implement standards into their care.
Joy has been an RN for over 35 years. She has worked in many specialties besides endoscopy including: plastic surgery, vascular surgery, pain management, and interventional pulmonology as an Associate Consultant. She lives in Rocky Mount, NC with her husband and has 5 precious grandchildren.

Associate Nurse Consultant
Prior to joining Grey & Co. in 2024, Katherine worked as a bedside nurse across specialties including: experience in specialties including cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiology, endoscopy and oncology. Katherine loves a challenge and she is passionate about creating and implementing plans and systems that work for clients.
Katherine obtained a bachelor's degree in Psychology from UNC Chapel Hill before pursuing a second bachelor's in Nursing at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is a PCCN-certified nurse. She lives in Raleigh, NC with her husband, black cat, and senior dog.
